I have been exhausted lately. I worked 4 in a row had one night off and now I'm in the middle of 5 in a row and not sleeping nearly enough.
Max's second evaluation appointment went very well. She said he is extremely intelligent and that she'd need the third appointment because he was losing focus fast the other day. So, his last one is tomorrow. I'm excited to get back there with Tim to see what her findings are. For some reason he has had an amazing two weeks. A few meltdowns here and there, but overall decent days as opposed to the week before when it was one bad day after another.
He LOVES gymnastics. He did much better the second day, but it was totally different on a Saturday morning. They had colored blocks at each station, and each child was assigned a color. They had to stand on their color until it was their turn. He still wandered off a bit, but watching the other kids, they all did. He was doing summersaults down a ramp, forward and backward, cartwheels and got to jump in the big pit again. I think that was his favorite part. I didn't get to watch as much as I would have liked because Tim had to work and Alex was a wild man. There were other kids there for him to play with, but it wasn't a kid friendly area so I had to watch him very closely. I can see him becoming a bob sledder when he grows up as much as he loves sliding down slides at fast speeds, head first on his belly.
I've decided I'm completely not cut out for working nights. I have been miserable lately. I'm tired all the time and when I'm not, I'm cranky. I yell more than I'd like and I cry more than Tim would like. I feel like I'm never home at night with my family...because I'm not, and then I don't do anything but sleep all day. I wake just in time to go get the kids and by the time they go to bed, I'm beat and just want to veg on the couch with the computer. I don't get anything done and laundry piles up until it takes me 3 days to get it done. I feel like I have no life and no friends to call to try to have one. I find myself getting homesick for VA quite a bit lately. Max has asked randomly a few times "mommy, when are we going home?" and I know he doesn't mean anything by it, but it makes me miss "HOME" or what felt like home for almost 10 years.
I digress, it's unlikely that we are going back so I just need to move on. I know Tim has days where he doesn't much like his job either so maybe a quick move is in order. As much as the housing market sucks, that's a scary thought, but this doesn't feel like home to me, so moving again wouldn't be a big deal. I guess we'll have to see what happens.
Kids are looking for mommy time right now so I have to run, but I have 2 days off when I'm done with my run of 5 so I'll be back then!

I'm sorry you're not loving IN. I agree with Deb, once you get to summer and get out more I'm sure you'll find some friends. I hope something works out on the job front. Night shift just sounds like misery.
I can totally relate on the job & not feeling at home. Anytime you need to talk-let me know. We can comiserate and be miserable together :) Love ya!

It was my sisters old computer, which always worked fine for her but when put it in my room it no longer works properly. The keyboard and mouse are still on, the number lock light is illuminated, but when i hit Cap lock the light doesn't come on. The computer isn't frozen, the clock works and the little hour glass appears by the mouse. Because the buttons don't work Ctrl Alt Del doesn't work, or Alt F4. I can't open a virus scan either.
