But man is it a mess!! Boxes everywhere! I want to get pictures soon, but I'd rather it be pretty before I start showing it off. Tim's mom has been here this weekend which has been awesome!! She either entertains the boys for me or helps unpack. She and Max did almost all the toys and she helped me get started in the kitchen because I had no idea where anything should go.
I don't even remember where I left off to update you on anything, but Alex still doesn't have any teeth, won't walk because he can get there faster crawling, and Max has already invited himself in to several of our new neighbor's homes. Cracks me up, but it's helping Tim and I meet people to always have to go retrieve him.
Ok, fast forward a day. I totally forgot I started typing this and got sidetracked. I have Max's room finally unpacked, but he has almost no clothes because everything is dirty. I started to do laundry last night, but I couldn't stay awake to finish. I'm now looking forward to naptime so I can get some stuff done.
Alex is loving all of the toys we have. Most have been in storage since before he was old enough to care. I had no idea we had so much stuff though. Now I just need to figure out how to organize it all. Our basement is broken into three parts. Toys, TV area, and Tim's computer area. I wish we could hang out in the living room upstairs, but in order to do that we couldn't all be together.
I feel so overwhelmed with all that needs to be done and I feel like I'm never going to catch up. Especially starting work next Monday. I guess I need to get to it. I'm going to try yet again to be better about updating here, but I might be hit or miss until things settle down a bit.
Hope everyone is well and I'll be back soon!

I cant' believe it's been almost a week
I could have sworn I updated more recently. Well, here I sit in the hotel room waiting to close on our house. 36 more hours, but I can't sleep. I fell asleep with the boys around 7:30 and now that I'm awake I feel like I've had enough for the night. NOT!
Anyway, things went rough with the movers this weekend. The packers were great, but the movers were sent to Bristol instead of Bristow which is about an 8 hour difference. Luckily he caught it early and they arrived by noon. All of the boxes got packed up not really time for the furniture considering one of their guys decided to take off half way through the day. The two who were left said he was young and just not cut out for the travel involved. Saturday they were supposed to be back bright and early because I had cleaners coming at 10. The snag that day was getting a shuttle truck (smaller moving truck) to fill and not have to drive the big truck around. The place they had to get it from didn't open until 9 and the person opening it showed up late.
Basically the cleaners agreed to come back in the afternoon and I was really grateful for that. They finally loaded the small truck and were off to unload and go to the storage unit. Tim and I had errands to run and people to say goodbye to, so we left quickly after the truck did. We spent far more time at our old hotel than I had planned and were very late getting back home that evening. We had a really nice little get together planned with the neighbors and I wanted to be able to enjoy our last night and say goodbye. Alex had other plans though and was up much of the night with stomach issues. Once we gave him some Maalox he was good to go and slept great.
Sunday was a little smoother, but again, we were way behind on what we wanted to get done. We had planned on being on the road by 10am, but at 10 we still hadn't left for brunch at Ash's restaurant. I believe that it was a little closer to 3 or 3:30 before we got on the road. With the exception of Jay and Kelly who were gone, we got to say goodbye to the neighbors I will miss the most! I just don't know that we'll be able to find anyone around here that we like and get along with so well.
Today was better. I had an interview at Elkhart General Hospital at 12:30 so Tim and I decided to drive by the new house on our way and test out my drive. It'll be less than 15 minutes which is awesome. While in my interview he took the boys to a park and then just drove around while they slept. The Maternity Services portion of this hospital was probably the most beautiful place I've ever seen. Much nicer the most hotels in my opinion. I really hope to get the job, but I think it went well today so hopefully I know in a day or two.
After the interview we came back to go swimming with the boys. Max is such a little fish and doing so well!! Alex just loves the water. Tim had him going under several times until I said he needed a break to dry out. He didn't seem to mind at all though. Dinner at Max & Erma's and then home for bed. It hasn't been too eventful. The next few days should get more exciting.
We close on the house Wednesday so the boys and I will probably head there to drop off toys and run around! See where we want to put stuff and things like that. Thursday my friend Debbie is supposed to be coming and so is the mover with our stuff. The way last weekend went, I'm not holding my breath. Tim's mom is coming Friday because she misses the boys and wants to help unpack. It should actually be a decent weekend for me to get a bunch of stuff done. My parents are waiting a few weeks to come down, but I'm ok with that because it means that uncle Rusty can come too, and maybe Bill will make the two hour trip.
K, almost 2:30 and I am getting sleepy now. I'm having restless leg issues and I think that must be calming down because now I'm just ready for bed. I shall talk to you soon and I will post pictures of the new house in a few days!!

One more day
Until the movers show up! I'm excited and nervous all at the same time. Tim should be on his way from Indiana to Virginia soon and will hopefully arrive sometime in the middle of the night. Don't know when the movers will show, but I'm guessing around 8am. Hopefully it isn't much sooner. They are just packing things tomorrow and then Friday it will all get loaded onto the truck. Today I packed a few plastic tubs with toys and clothes that we are keeping with us. I just need to find another box or something to put all of our miscellaneous stuff in.
Not much new to report with the boys. Max seems like he understands what's going on, but he doesn't get the "time" part of what is happening when. I'm also not sure that he realizes we aren't coming back to VA, but I know he'll adjust well. Especially once we get him into preschool.
I've been trying to set up another interview for when we get back up there, but the woman I have to talk to is out of the office until tomorrow. Hopefully I'll hear from her and they can get me in Monday or Tuesday while Tim is still off from work. He has to work when the movers show up with our stuff, but it appears my dear friend Debbie may be able to come with her boys and help me out. Max and Alex will love having Caige and Trace to play with, and it will also keep them out of my hair so I can start unpacking as boxes come in.
I'm not sure how much internet time I'll get once all of this goes down. I am hoping to keep the modems with us since the internet here will still be active. At least then I can get online until we leave. The TVs will be gone and that stinks!!
Ah well. The boys are napping so I should probably try to catch a few winks myself. I don't imagine I'll be getting much sleep this weekend!!

Finally back for another post
So, lots to tell. My friend Heather came for the weekend with her daughter, Ainsley. Ainsley and Max are two of a kind and fortunately they got along most of the time. Heather and I kinda messed up by going shopping and keeping them cooped up for too long. All in all they were ok. It was a great weekend for me simply because I enjoy having my friends come visit and I haven't seen Heather in ages!
On the home front, things are slowly falling into place with the move. We are being packed and loaded on Thursday and Friday. Our stuff won't be delivered until at least the next Thursday though which really stinks. Tim is going to have to be at work so I'll be on my own with the kids and the movers. I'll live though. We are still set to close in both places on the 25th. Our Realtor in VA will handle that one for us and we'll be at the other one. Tim is going to be here on Thursday to help with the packing and we have a weekend full of partying planned with the neighborhood. I'm sure we'll try to say goodbye to as many people as possible. It won't be easy leaving the friends that we've had for the last 9 years, but for us, this is the best thing we can do for our family.
On the job front, I haven't contacted the hospital I did the phone interview with because I had no idea when I would have a free day without kids. It sounds like Monday or Tuesday will work since Tim will be off work so I'm going to call them tomorrow. Please think good thoughts for me!! I really am hoping to get this job because I think it's a perfect fit for me.
Alex is almost 11 months and still does not have any teeth. It's making both of us miserable. He has had a runny nose for the last week so when you add those two things together it just spells trouble. He is cranky and has already learned to throw tantrums. His sleep is getting interrupted again which kinda stinks because he has been doing so well. I'm hoping the bit of Benadryl I slipped him tonight will help but I can hear him moaning on and off so I'm guessing it won't.
Max has been doing well, but definitely misses having people to play with. I'm hoping to get him back into daycare as soon as possible once we move. I've also got my fingers crossed that he'll meet some kids in the new neighborhood and maybe that will get me some new friends too. He was really good today until this evening which is great because he is normally the headache child. It was nice that he took a day off so Alex could be the monster ;)
Well, I'm getting tired and I don't know how long I have before Alex wakes up again so I will leave you with some pictures, taken by Heather, from this past weekend. Hope you enjoy them!

I know I need to update
But I have an awful tummy ache from eating so much junk so I'm heading to bed early tonight. I have some amazing pictures taken by my friend, Heather, though so I'll get those posted with a good update tomorrow.
Goodnight!
Goodnight!

Just a little update
The kids aren't getting any better!! Alex's sleep issues have gotten a ton better since we came back to Virginia, but with teething he has been a miserable mess. I don't think I got 3 hours of sleep last night total because he was up fussing and obviously in pain. He finally crashed sometime between 5 and 6 and slept until 8:30. I wish the darn teeth would just pop through already. It seems like he's going to get at least 6 all at once because his gums are a swollen mess.
Max and eating...Hmm, not sure what to say about it. I can't get him to eat much of anything. I keep offering foods I know he likes, but his answer is always "I'll tell you when I'm hungry" but that time never comes. I've resorted to taking away milk except for at bedtime and even that hasn't helped make him any hungrier. I know he won't let himself starve, but I just wonder how long he can go eating nothing more than 2 bites of chicken and a small cup of yogurt.
As for the houses, everything is falling into place. With the exception of signing power of attorney paperwork so we don't have to be at the closing in VA, everything here is done. In Indiana we are just waiting for the radon test and whether or not they can close on the 24th. If those three things fall into place in the next few days we are good to go. I keep waiting for the ball to drop on me. I am soooo desperate for us to all be back together again it's almost too good to be true.
Anyway, now it's just a matter of making the calls to turn off/on utilities, transfer internet and phone, and stuff like that. I also need to get my insurance transfered so we have home owners insurance and my car tags are about to expire in Virginia. That will be the first thing I take care of when I get to Indiana. Lots to do and no motivation to do it. That or I need the address first and I hate to start using it for fear of jinxing things.
Well, I'm tired and the kids are sound asleep so I should head to bed too. I was going to take a nice long bath tonight, but after no sleep last night I decided that was more important. I'm sure I'll be back soon!

Another day alone
I must sound really pathetic with that title. It has just been one of those days. Not all bad, but the closer we get to moving and being a family again, the more it bothers me that we aren't already there. I had my interview today and all I wanted to do was call Tim and tell him about it. He's busy though so I had to wait and that just made me feel poopy! Not that he was too busy for me, but because I just wanted someone to share it with.
Anyway, on to better things. My interview went very well. She asked me to call her and set something up as soon as I knew when I would be in town. The hospital seems to run almost exactly the way BRMC was as far as Women's Health so at least it will be somewhat familiar to me. Basically, I start out training in GYN surgical patients and mother/baby couplets. After that training I have to specialize in either Labor and Delivery or NICU. Since I've always wanted to work L&D anyway, this is the perfect situation for me!! About an hour after the phone call I got an e-mail from the HR person I've been talking with. She reiterated that everything went well and they'd love to have me come in person as soon as I'm in town. I'm thinking this will definitely be my next job! I'm really looking forward to getting back into full time work.
The kids today were my other headache! Alex slept for two hours this morning. Completely unheard of for him because up until about a week ago he never slept more than 45 minutes. That got me all excited, only to have him pretty much skip his afternoon nap. Fortunately he was good while I was having my interview. He did go down for about 30 minutes, but woke up cranky and stayed that way for the rest of the night. Max doesn't have sleep issues, he has eating issues. I can't get that kid to eat anything. Literally!! I offer breakfast, he tells me he'll let me know when he wants something. Then I offer lunch. Nope, still not hungry. I even told him he can't have anymore milk until he eats. Nothing but water and he still doesn't care. Finally at dinner he at a little Mac N Cheese. How long can he go on like this?? I'm sure it's completely normal for his age and pickiness level, but it's driving me insane! Alex is such a good eater so at least Tim can't say I screwed them both up ;)
After dinner we headed outside for a much needed break from the house. There were a few neighborhood kids out so Max had someone to play with and that was good for both of us. He didn't want to come inside, though, even after he was the only one left. GRR! I enticed him with a bath. I was inside trying to clean up dinner dishes and talking to Tim on the phone. The next thing I know I hear water running upstairs. The silly goof turned on the cold water and was trying to fill the bathtub, without stopping the drain first. It was so sweet of him to try to help though. I tossed him in first and then got Alex naked and in the water. It was a little too deep for him and he ended up dunking himself about 3 times before I finally had to yank his butt out. He loves the water so of course he screamed bloody murder, but tough! It's too hard to have them both in there when I'm by myself.
Right now they are both sound asleep and nice and squeaky clean, just the way I like them. I should have taken a bath myself afterwards to relax, but I was too afraid the water running would wake Alex so I've been watching TV and messing around on the computer instead. I should go to bed, but I just don't feel like it yet! Two more days until our home inspection and all I can think about is that I hope it goes well. I fear that there is something wrong with the house that will stop us from being able to buy it and that would just about crush me. I'm also pretty jealous. I'm having a hard time remembering what the house looks like because we looked at so many, but Tim gets to be there for the inspection so he can scope the whole place out. That also means that come moving time, he'll know where he wants everything and I won't be able to plan my arguments in advance. How unfair is that?? Haha!
Alright, I'm sure I've bored you enough by now so I'll head to bed. I'll be back though!!

I have an interview!
And I'd love to sit here and type all night, but our internet is still screwy! Hopefully they'll be here in the morning to fix it. Until then, I'm bouncing off someone in the neighborhood and that makes things really slow.
Anyway, the interview is Thursday by phone! I have to talk to the Patient Care Director of Maternity Services at Elkhart General Hospital. It won't be too far from home and I'm just excited that there is a chance I'll have a job as soon as I get back up there. I'll definitely update more after it happens.
As of right now, the boys and I plan to just hang out in Virginia until the movers come to pack everything up. Hopefully we'll get a better idea of when that will be by tomorrow! Tim will come down for the pack up as well which should be fun. The neighbors want to do a nice big party before we go. I'm hoping it all works out! I'm still very sad to be leaving, but excited as well!
I have two cute videos of Alex from earlier today and some pictures of Max from the Children's Museum in Chicago. Check 'em out!

I'm still very sad to be leaving, but excited as well!
I have two cute videos of Alex from earlier today and some pictures of Max from the Children's Museum in Chicago. Check 'em out!

I'm such a slacker
But kinda with good reason! We were with Tim at the hotel all last week. I actually got online one day and started to post, but got interrupted and never made it back. It was a hectic week with looking at houses, keeping the kids entertained, and all that fun stuff. We accomplished alot though.
The week prior we got an offer on our house in VA. We accepted it and are supposed to go to closing on September 28th. While in Indiana we looked for new houses there. We saw 10 and by the end of the day they were all running into one another where we had a hard time remembering what house had what. We picked our two favorites though and that evening drove through the one neighborhood. Of our top favorite that is. Lots of kids in all ranges of ages and it just seemed peaceful. Hopefully plenty of people our age that we can make friends with. The next day we scrambled to get our financing paperwork together so we could get a pre-approval. I knew there would be no problem, but we wanted it in hand when we made the offer. By Thursday afternoon we were sitting down to write the contract. Shortly after we finished I jumped in the truck with the boys and drove to VA.
Friday morning when I called Tim to let him know we made it ok, he was able to tell me that they accepted our offer and we will now be owning our own, single family home! Woohoo!! Lots more to clean, but it's big and beautiful!!
Backtracking a little, we went to Navy Pier in Chicago the Sunday I got down to see Tim. Max and Alex both had a blast. We just walked around and looked at things in the morning, but then we headed for the children's museum. Tons for both of the boys to do so even Alex didn't get stuck in the stroller all day. I have pictures, but they aren't even on the computer yet so I'll get them up eventually.
Since being back in VA we've had quite a nice time. Max has been outside playing withe the neighborhood kids and Alex is being loved on by everyone. Not to mention is little girlfriend, Evie who is only two weeks younger. Yesterday we had a big cookout with everyone and it felt just like old times! The next few weeks might be rough with everyone going back to work and the kids going back to school, but we'll figure it out. I plan on staying until Tim can come down to meet with the movers and get us out of here. Probably some time around the 20th.
I have lots of friends to see so I'm hoping that will keep us busy. I want to take the boys to their old daycare as well just to see their friends! I'm sure Naila misses them even if they are a handful!
So, that's about all I have for right now. I expect Alex to wake up any minute and Max is patiently awaiting me downstairs to play some pretend game or another. I'll hopefully be around a bit more now that I have internet again!
