Our newest family member

Meet Dexter. Or as Max insists we say, Dex. He is 5 1/2 months old and came to live with us on Thursday. I have to drive up to just west of Grand Rapids to get him, but he is already worth it. So much fun. Both of the kids like to play with him and Max even holds him. I'm sure Alex would but he's too busy getting poked because he likes to pull on the quills. So not nice!

Getting a meal worm from Tim. He doesn't seem to like them much. No interest

and here he is sleeping in his litter box. Hopefully he eventually uses it for the right purpose

And that's Dexter. Don't be too overly surprised if you hear and see more about him in the future. I'm going to take him to visit both kids schools in the next few weeks so that should be interesting!

No other news to report. It's snowing today and no one wants to get dressed or do anything. We've been bumming around all day and now I'm ready for a nap. I'm going to hit the couch with my book and see what happens.

He is so cute!!!

Did you name him after a serial killer?

Haha, yup, I sure did. Max thinks it was after a Power Ranger though. I let him believe what he wants! I just thought it was cool to have another X name in the house.

I think he smelling Tim's crotch. Haha, sorry couldn't resist. He is cute as pie!

LOL Debbie!

Manda- not really. You need to hold him alot to help him get socialized, and clean the cage obviously, but they are pretty easy overall and don't smell like most rodents so it was the perfect pet for us.

Wow a hedgehog, until you got him I didn't know hedgehogs were pets. I knew about Sonic and that was it. He looks like a little porcupine.

Glad everyone is enjoying him.

I really can't get over how cute he is! I actually made one of the pictures my screen saver until I read the comment about Tim's crotch and realized that was the picture on my screen saver!! (delete)Anyway, Jay says we can't get one so I'll have to look at your pics and live through you! Have fun!

And before Tim can say anything...I mean have fun with the HEDGEHOG (not Tim's crotch) :)

Haha Kelly! You crack me up. Tell Jay they are awesome pets. No smell at all. They sleep most of the time. So easy to take care of as long as you feed and water them. That's how I got Tim to agree!! It really doesn't smell!
